The carafe body is made of recycled glass and the lid of natural cork. According to the manufacturer’s sustainability declaration, recycled glass makes up 81.6% of the product’s weight and cork 18.4%; the source of the recycled material (pre- or post-consumer) is not specified. The product is recyclable. Recycled glass may show slight tint variations or small bubbles – a natural property of the material, not a defect.
Use, care and safety
According to the manufacturer the carafe is dishwasher safe; we still recommend washing the cork lid by hand and letting it dry so it does not swell. The cork keeps dust out but is not a leak-proof seal.
