Textile laser engraving

Technology and applications

A laser alters the fabric surface to create a subtle tonal logo without printing ink or an added layer. The guide lists fabric bags, backpacks and textile folders. Simple designs with bold lines work best; light fabrics may offer little contrast. Results depend on fibre composition and colour. Synthetic materials need prior testing because heat can damage them.

Techniques and artwork limits

The figures below come from the supplier’s technical guide. They are not universal limits for every product. Suitability, marking area, colours and care must be confirmed for the selected product and artwork before ordering.

  • Minimum letter height (+/−): 5 / 8 mm
  • Minimum line width (+/−): 1.5 / 2 mm
  • Colours / special condition: No ink

How do I choose a marking method?

Send the logo as AI, SVG, EPS or vector PDF. For photographs use at least 300 dpi at final print size only where the technique supports images. Lettering must remain legible at actual size; negative detail means an unprinted line or letter within a printed area.

Care: for textiles prefer washing inside out at up to 30°C, avoid bleach, tumble drying and ironing directly on the marking, unless the product requires stricter care. For drinkware prefer hand washing; dishwasher suitability needs confirmation for the item and decoration.

For a suitable solution, send the product code, quantity, logo, desired marking size and deadline. Price depends on the product, area, colours, setup and quantity. Special finishes require a product-specific check and, where necessary, a sample; the picture illustrates the technique rather than guaranteeing compatibility with every item.
