Calendar with logo 2027: wall or desk calendar for your company?

In December, clients receive plenty of gifts, but few of them stay in sight for a whole year. A calendar with logo is the exception: it is looked at every day, meetings and deadlines are written on it, and your company name stays visible from January to December. If you are planning your 2027 calendars, it pays to think through the format, design, materials and timing before you order. That way your business gifts with logo take a form that genuinely gets used.

Why a company calendar is still a strong business gift

Digital calendars are indispensable in daily work, but a printed calendar plays a different role. It is a visual overview of the year that hangs on the wall or stands on the desk and never needs to be opened. That is why a company calendar is one of the few promotional gifts whose visibility does not end at the moment it is handed over.

The strengths of a calendar as a business gift:

  • Long lifespan – the calendar is used all year, and your logo with it.
  • Practical value – it helps the recipient plan instead of just sitting on a shelf.
  • Repeated contact – each new month gives you a chance to show a new image, message or product.
  • Suits a wide circle – a calendar can go to key clients, partners and your wider network alike.

In many companies the calendar is a year-end tradition. Clients expect it and notice when it fails to arrive one year. It is therefore worth linking the calendar to your wider Christmas gifts plan so that all year-end deliveries arrive as one coherent whole.

Calendar types and who they suit

The right format depends on where the recipient works and how they plan their time. Below are the most common options.

Wall calendar

A wall calendar is the most visible choice. It suits offices, workshops, warehouses and customer service areas where many people see it at once. The large surface leaves room for high-quality photos and brand design. Both month-by-month pages and a single-sheet year planner used as a planning board are popular. If you are looking for a custom wall calendar 2027, start from where it will hang.

Desk calendar

A desk calendar stands right in front of the recipient, next to the computer or on the meeting table. It works well for office staff and managers who need a quick overview of weeks and months. The smaller format means the design must be clear: logo, contact details and dates must be easy to read.

Calendar diary and planner

A calendar diary combines a calendar and a notebook. It suits people who carry a planner with them and write meetings and ideas on paper. You will find calendar diaries and other desk products in our office supplies range. The logo is often applied to the cover, for example by debossing.

Pocket calendar

A pocket calendar is a compact and affordable solution for a larger group of recipients, for example at trade fairs or client events. It fits in a wallet or card holder and makes a good addition to a gift set where the main product is something else.

A short comparison helps you choose:

Calendar typeWhere it is usedWho it suits
Wall calendarOn the wall of an office, workshop or warehouseTeams and shared spaces where many people see it
Desk calendarOn the desk next to the computerOffice staff, managers, customer service

Many companies combine formats: a desk calendar with a notebook for key clients, a wall calendar for partners and a pocket calendar for event visitors. The design stays consistent while each target group receives the product that suits it best.

Design that does not end up in a drawer

A calendar stays in use when it is both attractive and practical. A design that is too promotional can become irritating, while one that is too modest leaves no impression of the brand. The right balance comes when every monthly page is visually enjoyable and the logo is clearly, but not dominantly, visible.

When designing, consider the following:

  1. Your own photos or brand images – for each month you can choose images of your projects, products, people or Estonian nature. The calendar then tells your company's story.
  2. Space for notes – date boxes that are large enough turn the calendar into a working tool, not just decoration.
  3. Important company dates – trade fairs, anniversaries or campaigns can be marked in advance.
  4. Public holidays – always check holiday dates against official sources before printing, because a mistake in a calendar stays visible for a whole year.
  5. Contact details – the web address and phone number should appear on every page or at least along the bottom edge.

If you are short of time or do not have an in-house designer, our advertising design service can create a consistent layout for the calendar, select the images and adapt the design to the chosen format.

Paper, binding and printing

The choice of paper affects both the look and how well the calendar holds up over the year. Thicker paper feels more premium and does not curl on the wall. A matt surface is good for writing notes and reduces glare, while a glossy surface brings out photo colours better. If people will write on the wall calendar a lot, choose matt paper.

More and more companies also ask for a sustainable option. Paper from responsibly managed forests is identified by the FSC label. You will find products made from certified materials on our FSC promotional gifts page.

There are two common binding options:

  • Spiral binding – pages turn easily and the calendar stays open. Suitable for wall and desk calendars.
  • Saddle stitching – simpler and more affordable, suitable for a thinner calendar or a brochure-style edition.

On calendar diaries and planners, the logo can be added to the cover by debossing, which looks elegant and lasts a long time. A quality pen from our writing instruments also pairs well with a calendar, so the recipient can start noting dates straight away.

When to order your 2027 calendars

A calendar must reach the recipient before the year begins, ideally before your clients' holiday period when many offices are closed. Producing a calendar involves several stages: choosing the format, collecting images and texts, layout, proofreading, printing and delivery. Each stage takes time, and delays add up.

We therefore recommend that you:

  • start planning in the autumn, as soon as you know the number of recipients;
  • prepare images and logo files before requesting a quote;
  • ask for specific production and delivery times in the quote and add a buffer;
  • approve the design and proof quickly so that printing is not held up.

Also think about how the calendar will reach the recipient. A calendar handed over in person with a short greeting card makes a stronger impression than an anonymous parcel. If you send calendars by courier, compile the address list in good time and check that contact persons and office addresses are up to date. For large wall calendars, ask about suitable packaging so the corners do not crease in transit.

Taxes: when is a calendar a tax-free gift?

In Estonia, a calendar with a logo given to a non-employee is treated as a promotional gift. According to the Estonian Tax and Customs Board, a promotional gift is exempt from income tax if it costs up to 21 euros excluding VAT and bears the company logo. If the cost exceeds 21 euros, the full cost is subject to income tax at a rate of 22/78. VAT is not charged on gifts costing up to 10 euros excluding VAT. For sets, the costs of the items are added together.

Calendars and gifts given to employees are fringe benefits, and the 21-euro rule does not apply to them. For specific questions, consult your accountant.

Frequently asked questions

Can we use our own photos in the calendar?

Yes. Your own photos make the calendar personal. What matters is that the images have sufficient resolution for print, especially for a large wall calendar. If you are unsure, send the files for checking before the design work begins.

Can a small quantity be printed?

Whether a small quantity is possible depends on the calendar type and printing technology. Include the desired quantity in your quote request so we can offer a suitable solution.

Can the calendar be made in English or Russian?

Yes. Different language versions are produced as separate print runs, so you can send each client group a calendar in the right language.

Do you deliver calendars across Estonia?

Yes, Logotrade delivers orders throughout Estonia. We specify the delivery time and method in the quote.
