A reverse-closing umbrella is ideal for drivers, field sales staff and anyone who gets into a car or off public transport in the rain: when it closes, the wet outer surface folds inward, so water does not drip onto the seat or floor. Reverse closing and storm resistance
The umbrella is opened and closed by hand, but in reverse: the canopy folds "inside out", leaving the dry inner side on the outside. Frame and ribs are fibreglass, which flexes in gusts and does not rust; the handle is polypropylene (PP). According to the supplier data it is stormproof and weighs 480 g. Honest note: no umbrella is fully immune to turning inside out in a severe storm.
RPET fabric and AWARE™
The canopy is 190T RPET pongee with the AWARE™ tracer, whose data is stored on a blockchain so the recycled content can be verified. Per the supplier data, one canopy uses 14.9 PET bottles of 500 ml and saves 8.8 litres of water compared with conventional fibre (based on Textile Exchange LCA data). For every Impact product sold, 2% of proceeds is donated to Water.org. Only the canopy fabric is recycled, not the frame or handle.
