A day with the umbrella
Manual opening and closing means less mechanism that could fail – the umbrella opens when you want it to. The handle is made of soft EVA, and the 25" canopy reliably protects one person, even from sideways rain. The supplier does not list it as storm-proof.
Material and build
Aluminium frame, fibreglass ribs and a canopy made of 190T recycled polyester. The AWARE™ tracer validates the recycled content. According to supplier data, making the canopy saved 5.6 litres of water and used 9.4 PET bottles (500 ml); 2% of the proceeds of Aware™ products are donated to Water.org. Note that recycled polyester is still plastic.
