Beanie with Logo and Winter Textiles: Scarves, Gloves and Gaiters
When the temperature drops below zero, your company logo reaches the most people from places where nobody expects it – on heads, around necks and on hands. A beanie with logo, a scarf or a pair of gloves is used almost every day in winter, travels with the wearer on the street, on public transport and at events, and so becomes a moving advertising space. In this guide we explain which winter textiles to choose, which material to prefer, how best to apply your logo and what to pay attention to when ordering.
Winter textiles work well both for kitting out your team and as a practical gift for clients and partners. They are part of the wider range of promotional products with logo.
Why winter textiles make a good corporate gift
The Estonian winter is long, and warm clothing is needed for several months in a row. Unlike many other promotional items, a hat or scarf does not stay in a drawer – it is put to use as soon as the weather turns colder. Every time the wearer steps outside, the logo is on show.
The second advantage is versatility. A hat and scarf suit almost any target group: office staff, field workers, students, athletes and clients. A textile gift feels more personal than many other promotional products and is associated with care and warmth.
Thirdly, winter textiles are a good way to strengthen team spirit. Employees wearing matching hats at a trade fair, a sports event or a winter day create a coherent and professional impression. You will find the full range in our textile products category.
Product types
The choice of winter textiles is wide. Below are the main product types and their strengths.
Knitted hat
The knitted hat is the classic winter corporate gift. It is available in different cuts and thicknesses: with a turn-up cuff, with or without a pompom, in a thinner or thicker knit. A knitted hat is well suited both for everyday wear and as team gear for events. The logo is usually placed on the front of the hat or on the cuff.
Fleece hat and neck gaiter (buff)
A fleece hat is light, soft and well suited to active movement. A neck gaiter, or buff, is a tubular multi-purpose item that can be worn around the neck, on the head or over the face. Both are popular for sports events, hikes and outdoor work, and they also appeal to younger target groups.
Scarf
A scarf is a more elegant choice that works particularly well as a representative gift. A knitted or knit-style scarf in company colours can carry the logo as a discreet label or embroidery. A scarf and hat can also be ordered as a set in a matching design.
Gloves (including touchscreen fingertips)
Gloves are a practical addition to a hat and scarf. Gloves with touchscreen-compatible material in the fingertips are especially popular – they let you use a smartphone without taking the gloves off. With gloves it is worth thinking about sizes, because unlike a hat, one size does not always fit everyone.
When choosing the product type, consider where and how the recipients will use it. For an active target group, a fleece hat or neck gaiter is a good choice, while a quality scarf or a knitted hat with a scarf works better as a representative gift. If you want to cover the different needs of the whole team, you can also combine several product types in a matching design.
Materials
The material affects the feel of the product, its care and its lifespan. The most common options are:
- acrylic – light, durable and easy to care for, well suited to larger quantities;
- wool blends – warmer and more natural in feel, but they need more careful washing;
- recycled polyester – a more environmentally conscious choice that suits a brand emphasising sustainability;
- fleece – soft and light, keeps you warm and dries quickly.
When choosing, also consider the recipients' sensitivities: some people find wool uncomfortable on the skin or are sensitive to it. If the target group is broad, it makes sense to prefer soft, skin-friendly materials. You will find exact material details and care instructions in each product description.
Besides the material, the density of the knit affects the result. A denser knit keeps you warmer and gives the embroidery a firmer base, while a looser knit is lighter and airier. If the hat or scarf is meant for long-term use, it is worth choosing a denser, higher-quality knit – it keeps its shape and still looks good after several seasons.
Logo: embroidery, label or print
There are several ways to apply a logo to winter textiles, and the right choice depends on the material and the effect you want.
Embroidery is the most common solution for knitted hats and scarves. It is durable, looks high-quality and withstands repeated wear. Our embroidery service works well for both small logos and text. With embroidery, bear in mind that very fine details and small text may lose clarity on a knit.
A woven or leather label gives the product a representative, brand-like look. The label is sewn onto the hat or scarf and creates the impression of a well-designed branded garment.
Printing generally suits knitted surfaces less well, because the knit is uneven and stretches. On smoother materials, such as fleece or a neck gaiter, printing can work well – one option is DTF printing. You can read about all techniques on our services page. If you are not sure which technique suits your product, ask for a sample before placing a large order.
Colours and sizes
Companies often want a hat or scarf to be exactly the brand colour. In textiles, and yarn in particular, colour matching is approximate – yarn takes colour differently from paper or a screen, and the result may differ somewhat from the Pantone shade. If the exact colour is important, it is therefore worth asking for a sample before production.
As for sizes, hats, scarves and neck gaiters are mostly one size, which makes ordering easier. Gloves, however, often come in several sizes, so collect your employees' sizes in good time or choose a universal model.
A set as a gift
A hat and scarf in a matching design and attractive packaging make a complete and practical gift. Such a set can be supplemented with gloves, a vacuum flask or hot drink mixes to create a winter gift pack. You will find ideas in our gift sets and Christmas gifts selections.
A set is suitable for thanking clients at the end of the year, welcoming new employees during the winter months and for participants of winter events. You can also find inspiration in our previous work.
How to order in good time
Winter textiles are seasonal products, and demand for them grows in autumn. The earlier you start your order, the more choice you have in models, colours and logo application options. With embroidery and labels, time is also needed to prepare the design and approve the sample. Always ask for the production time in the quote and plan your schedule accordingly. Frequently asked questions
Does embroidery survive washing?
Quality embroidery is durable and withstands repeated washing. Follow the product's care label – that way both the textile and the embroidery will stay looking good for longer.
Can colours be matched exactly?
With yarn and textiles, colour matching is approximate. If the exact shade is important, ask for a sample before production.
Is there a minimum quantity?
The minimum quantity depends on the product and the logo application technique. Please ask about it when requesting a quote.
Is a winter textile gift to a client tax-free?
In Estonia, a promotional gift with a logo given to a non-employee is free of income tax if it costs up to 21 euros excluding VAT. Above that amount, income tax of 22/78 must be paid on the full cost. VAT is not charged on a gift worth up to 10 euros excluding VAT (for a set, the values of the items are added together). Gifts to employees are a fringe benefit, and the 21-euro rule does not apply to them.
